HCII 2011: Presentation for late breaking news *NEW*

If you would like to present the latest results of your work to an international audience of about 2000 from more than 70 countries, you still have the opportunity to do so. You can submit a proposal for a poster presentation (an abstract of 300 words) through the CMS. If your proposal is accepted, you have to register for the Conference by 1 July 2011, so that your poster is scheduled for presentation in the posters area of the conference.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Presentation of a late breaking news poster is conditional upon a unique registration of an author per poster by 1 July 2011. These poster presentations can not be included in the Conference Proceedings. They will be included in the on-line version of the program and the PDF version which will be made available for download after the conference. Depending on the date of the submission, they may also be included in the printed final program of the conference.

HCII 2011: Feel the rhythm of HCI

Following the keynote address of Prof. Ben Shneiderman entitled "Technology-Mediated Social Participation: The Next 25 Years of HCI Challenges", HCII 2011 participants will dive into three days of intensive sessions on almost any topic in the field of HCI. Presentations are carefully categorized to offer the best possible grouping per topic of interest and area of expertise.
The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Orlando's newest AAA 4-Diamond hotel, serving as the main hotel of the Conference, offers high-quality hotel facilities. It is surrounded by the Walt Disney World® Resort.
During the conference you will have the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with participants from more than 70 countries. Every effort has been made to make your participation as productive, pleasant, entertaining and memorable as possible.

HCII 2011: Advance Program (updated 9 May)

The detailed Advance Program of HCI International 2011 has recently been updated to include information about the following:

  • Twenty two full- and half-day Tutorials that will run from Saturday 9 July to Monday 11 July.
  • Opening plenary session, to be followed by a gala reception, in the afternoon of Monday 11 July. Prof. Ben Shneiderman is the keynote speaker for this year's Conference. His speech is entitled: "Technology-Mediated Social Participation: The Next 25 Years of HCI Challenges". During the opening session, fourteen awards will be conferred. A plaque and a certificate will be given to the best paper of each of the twelve affiliated conferences / thematic areas. Among these twelve papers, one will be selected to receive the golden award as the Best HCII 2011 Conference paper. Finally, the Best Poster extended abstract will also receive a plaque and a certificate.
  • 220 parallel sessions including presentations of papers of over 3800 authors from 70 countries will run from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 July 2011.
  • Poster presentations that will run from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 July 2011.
  • Exhibition (Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 July 2011).

HCII 2011: Accommodation

The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Orlando's newest AAA 4-Diamond hotel, is recommended as the main hotel of the Conference, offering 1,000 guest rooms and suites. Adjacent to Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is Waldorf Astoria® Orlando.

A number of rooms have been reserved to be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and reduced rates have been agreed with the Hotel. These rates are valid for all Conference participants for the duration of the Conference as well as for 3 additional days, before and / or after the Conference, based on availability. Please also note that, there is a cut off for reservations thirty days before the Conference. Any requests after that time will be placed on a space available basis.
